Long weekend fun

This weekend we had a fun family adventure in NJ. The kids enjoyed their first trip to Atlantic City where Owen had fun checking out the view and the hotel pool,

Mommy and friends Katie and Natalie hung out with the New Kids (so to speak),


And Daddy tried his luck at the tables. (He's in there somewhere!)




We then joined the Browns for some beach time. What fun!!

Thanks again guys, we had a blast!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

We're heading out for a beach adventure this weekend, with a little casino and New Kids action thrown in. (We might need another long weekend to recover.) Hope everyone has a fun holiday weekend!

Sweet boy

Poor Owen got a pretty bad rep last week from the post about his Terrible Two-ness. And while he has been quite the hooligan lately, he has also been very sweet. We've enjoyed lots of extra hugs and kisses and impromptu "I love you's". Aww. But our favorite might have to be his new "Good job!". Owen must think we need a little extra encouragement lately because he cheers us on throughout the day. With lots of enthusiasm.

"Good job Gracie drinking milk!"

"Good job Daddy playing golf!" (when Daddy came home from golfing)

"Good job Mommy getting coffee!" (as we pull-out of the Starbucks drive-through)

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Aunt Elyse as she graduates college today! We are so proud of you and wish we could be there. Way to go!!

Dennis?

Over the months, we've had quite a few comments on Owen's resemblance to Dennis the Menace. Based on his recent behavior, we couldn't agree more! In addition to the normal 2 year old boundary testing, defiance and trouble making, the past couple days our Dennis has been extra busy trashing his room instead of napping, streaking through the house, coating his arms, legs and face in Desitin a la "war paint", repeatedly emptying his drawers, removing his diaper and its #2 contents, stepping in said contents, and escaping his room to wreak havoc in other rooms- under the cover of silence. And he knows... just today as I tried to keep him out of the pantry he pushed me away saying, "No Mommy. Baby crying, go get it". Hmmm...



And since I started this post, I'm pretty sure he broke the DVD player. He must know we're tired!

A hip thing

At one month, baby Grace is growing well. She is over 9 lbs, 21 inches and right on track. We did learn, however, that she has dislocated hips. This is something that she was born with and we are grateful the doctors found it early so it can be corrected right away. So, for the next couple months, Grace will be sporting this harness to pop those hips back into place.

In the meantime, she's being a good sport about it

and is enjoying lots of extra hugs from all of us!

Three weeks and she's here!

The "real baby", that is. Grace has found her voice and is not afraid to use it!

Owen likes to help calm his little sister with a paci, his own lovey and a favorite book.

I think maybe she just likes the extra attention...
