Big Boy Bed

We took advantage of the Big Storm to make some Big Changes! Between rounds of snow shoveling and working, Daddy painted Owen's room and we switched out his crib for a new bed. Owen was very excited for his Big Boy Bed!

Going to sleep for real, however, was not as much fun.

After a few denied requests for the crib and several returns to bed, he stayed put and we all got a good night's sleep. Yay!

Though he's still getting the hang of the whole bed thing...

Baby, it's COLD out there!

Round 2 of the Blizzard arrived last night with high winds and alot more snow. These storms have given us some fun and cozy family time, but we now have even more reason to be excited for April-- Baby Girl C's arrival AND SPRING! Mommy is 30 weeks along this week, roughly 10 more to go.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Wishing Daddy a very happy day and great year. We think you are the BEST and love you so much!

And on this extra cold day, (and as we await MORE snow), we also wish for warmer days!

The Blizzard Weekend

The Blizzard of 2010 kicked off on Friday with lots of snow that just kept falling and falling... and meant lots and lots of shoveling.

Owen pitched in for a couple minutes,

Then decided snow tagging was more fun.

We kept ourselves busy inside with lots of playtime, some tv, plenty of food (Owen made his very own pizza),

but there was of-course still some boredom.

The snow has finally stopped falling but will apparently be sticking around for awhile. More snow "fun" to come as the Big Dig Out continues..

Bye-bye "Baba"

Owen has been pacifier-free for one week! After a few rough days- and long nights- we are finally back on schedule and happy that Owen is now "unplugged". The loss of "Baba" has bonded O and Doggie closer than ever, but he agrees that big boys and soon-to-be big brothers are "too big" for pacifiers!

Thanks to Lisa we have this picture of the beloved Three Amigos who were inseperable these past couple years. We are so proud of our little guy for this big step!

Snow friends

The snow just keeps coming! Today we built our second snowman of the season and Owen was very excited about his new friend.

He insisted on feeding him grapes,

and tried to give him a kiss.

Owen also enjoyed some playtime with his other snow buddy and neighbor Beckham. Don't be fooled by these poker faces, they had a great time!

Uncle Paintball!

We are excited for Uncle Mike, who is on the cover of this March's edition of Action Pursuit Games magazine, a national paintball magazine. Mike is on a sponsored scenario paintball team called Capital Offense and travels all over the East Coast playing in games and trying out new high-tech gear. Aunt Abbie has even gotten into it and participates in many of the weekend-long games.

Owen shows his support in his "Mike pants"- what he calls all his camo gear- which he requests to wear often. Go Team Smith!
