Fall days

This weekend we took advantage of some beautiful weather to get in some raking.

Ok, so it was more fun than productive, but how doesn't love to play in the leaves??

We love fall days!

It's almost Halloween

and Owen is practicing for the big day! His actual costume is also a member of the cat family, just with a slightly bigger "meow".

Go away swine!

We would like to send "Get Well" wishes to our friends, grandmas, aunt and uncle who have the dreaded swine flu right now. Stay healthy!

Uncle Ma-ike

We got to see Uncle Mike two weekends in a row and Owen was thrilled! He joined us at the pumpkin patch and helped Owen pick out the right one.

And then he couldn't get enough fun time with Uncle "Ma-ike" when he and Aunt Abbie spent the night, check out this clip of O looking for him!

Another year and so many more blessings. Mommy couldn't be more thankful for her friends and family- and the newest little member on the way!

We are thrilled to officially announce that Baby #2 is expected this April!!

Owen will certainly have some adjusting to do, but for now he's "ok" with the idea.

"Preschool"

Today Owen started preschool! He'll be going once a week to an in-home preschool for some learning, crafts and play.

He did very well on his first day, despite a little exhaustion from a 5am wake-up. We look forward to next week!

Weekend in Florida

This weekend we took a long overdue trip down to Florida to visit Great Grandma Backus. Owen did very well on his first plane ride and was a great traveler.

Great Grandma and Owen had fun catching up, going on outings, playing the "niano" and blowing lots of kisses back and forth. She hadn't seen Owen since about this time last year, so he had lots of new skills to show off!

Four generations!

Owen was also delighted to get in some extra beach time.

Daddy got in some fishing and took us all out with him one evening. Owen preferred to explore but Grandma and Mommy caught some fish...
and Daddy caught LOTS!

Including this shark, which is precisely why Mommy doesn't go swimming in Florida!
